Yavapai County Recorder Sends 2500 Voter Envelopes With Wrong Dates

According to Yavapai County Recorder, Leslie Hoffman no ballots were sent with incorrect dates or incorrect addresses, however some outside envelopes have an incorrect return by date.

Hoffman reports that on Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m., she was notified there were ballot packages with the wrong “return by” date on the outside envelope. Upon investigation the office determined of the 101,000 plus ballot packages mailed, one batch of 2,500 had the wrong “return by” date.

Hoffman says this “was a keying error.”

The error affects a portion of the 86303 and 86304 zip codes. On Tuesday, letters were sent to the 2,500 voters notifying them the “return by” date on the outside of the package was incorrect. Voter were instructed to refer to the yellow instruction sheet for the correct “return by” date of Tuesday, November 8th, 2016.

All early ballots must be delivered to the Yavapai County Recorder’s Office, any Yavapai County Vote Center or Ballot Drop Box Location no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Night, Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
