Tucson Police ID Flower Street Homicide Victim

The victim from Monday’s homicide on Flower Street has been identified by Tucson Police as 27-year-old Bilal Cochrane.

On January 2, 2017, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Tucson Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 4000 block of East Flower Street. Upon arrival, officers located Mr. Cochrane inside the home with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering first aid utilizing their Individual First Aid Kits. Tucson Fire personnel took over medical treatment, however Mr. Cochrane was pronounced deceased on scene shortly after their arrival.

Homicide detectives determined that shortly after 1:00 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) arrived at the home and made contact with Mr. Cochrane. Shots were immediately fired from the suspect(s) and Mr. Cochrane was struck multiple times. Several other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting. At this time, it appears that the suspect(s) was specifically targeting Mr. Cochrane.

Detectives are actively following up on leads and are encouraging anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
