The Cochise County Board of Supervisors has selected Ed Gilligan as the new County Administrator. Gilligan previously served as Deputy County Administrator under Jim Vlahovich, County Administrator, since 2015.

Prior to that appointment, he served as the Cochise County Chief Adult Probation Officer and the Juvenile Court Services Director.  Gilligan has been with the county for nearly four years.

“When we learned Jim would be retiring in June, after 29 years of service, it was important to hire a new administrator to lead us through the budget process for next year” stated Ann English, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.  She went on to say, “Ed was an obvious choice because of his work with Jim, his familiarity with the county processes and his great work ethic.  It will take all of us working together, with Ed leading us, to continue being recognized as one of the most efficient, effective, creative counties in the State of Arizona.”
