Just South of the State Prison near Buckeye, the fleeing vehicle then went off-road at mile marker 138 on State Route 85 and two subjects abandoned the vehicle on foot. A Border Patrol agent and his canine partner assisted in the search and apprehended one of the subjects; DPS apprehended the other.

A follow-on search of the vehicle turned up an undisclosed amount of marijuana. DPS took custody of the vehicle, subjects and contraband.
