Customs and Border Protection Officer Edgard Garcia was involved in a single vehicle accident near Rio Rico, Arizona on May 5, 2017, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Officer Garcia succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“It is with a heavy heart that I report we have lost a fellow officer, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Edgard Garcia,” said Nogales Port Director Efrain Solis.
Officer Garcia entered duty with CBP on January 12, 2004, and was permanently assigned to the Nogales Port.
