Cochise County Burglary Suspect Sought Near Hereford

On Thursday May 11, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m., suspicious activity in the 6000 block of E. Pintek Lane in Hereford was reported to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

A caller reported that she and her husband were watching a neighbors home while he was out of state when they saw the gate to the property as well as the door open to the residence and a white truck parked outside.

The neighbors made contact with a Hispanic male subject who was wearing a red cardinals jersey and black wristband who advised that he was supposed to be at the house. The neighbors advised him that they knew he was not supposed to be at the home and the man jumped into the truck and drove through the fence to get away.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area along with air support from Geronimo and ultimately tracked the vehicle to an address in the same general area near Rose Street. The vehicle was covered with a tarp and no one was in the immediate area.

Contact with the home owner resulted in information about a second vehicle that was supposed to be at the home was missing. That vehicle was also located near the suspect vehicle that was covered with a tarp.

Sheriff’s Deputies are working on obtaining a search warrant at this time for the suspect vehicle and have recovered the stolen vehicle which was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Hereford residents most likely observed multiple law enforcement agency units as well as Geronimo in the area working on this case.
