Tucson Police Identify Victim In Monday’s Eastside Homicide

Gregory Ruby, age 50, has been identified as the victim of a homicide that occurred on Monday on Tucson’s eastside. The homicide occurred on E. 22nd St., east of S. Pantano Rd.

On June 26, 2017, around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to assist the Tucson Fire Department reference a man down call on E. 22nd St., east of Pantano Rd. on the northern sidewalk area by the bridge. The Tucson Fire Department was first on scene and located Ruby with obvious blunt force trauma.

Detectives learned Mr. Ruby had been seen with another male in the area shortly before being found unresponsive on the ground by citizens. Several citizens performed CPR and rendered aid to Mr. Ruby.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and are asking anyone that may have been in the area between 2:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. that saw anything or anyone that stopped to assist, to please call 911 or 88-CRIME (you can remain anonymous).
