Border Patrol Agents Respond to 911 Call, 5 Rescued

TUCSON, Ariz. –Border Patrol agents from Tucson Sector’s Casa Grande Station responded to a 911 call Monday afternoon, resulting in the rescue of an adult and four juvenile males south of Sells, Arizona, near Federal Route 19.

Agents working south of Sells responded to the location and encountered five male Mexican nationals, four of whom were juveniles, one as young as 14. The group claimed they had been walking in the desert for “a week”.

After agents determined the individuals required no medical attention, they were processed for immigration violations in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.

Border Patrol officials urge anyone in distress to call 9-1-1 or to activate a rescue beacon before becoming a casualty. In fiscal year 2016, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents rescued more than 1,400 people; mostly in the western Arizona region.
