Recent severe rains caused extensive erosion to the shoulders of the roadway to Sentinel Peak Park (“A” Mountain) forcing Tucson Parks and Recreation to temporarily close the road for public safety.
The roadway is currently closed to motor vehicle traffic so that further assessment of the damage and repairs can be made. Once the repairs are complete, the roadway will reopen to motor vehicle travel.
The road remains open to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
