Tucson, Phoenix Gatherings Respond To Charlottesville Protest

In Phoenix and Tucson, hundreds of people participated gatherings in response to the attack in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The “Phoenix Against Hate” prayer vigil held at Phillips Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal was sponsored by Black Lives Matter Phoenix and the east Valley NAACP.

In Tucson, a march started at Hotel Congress to the Islamic Center of Tucson, the African American Student Affairs Center, and the Hillel Foundation.

Tucson organizers said the march was intended to “express our love and support for our wonderful, diverse community.”
