Tucson Police Investigating East Side Homicide

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating the death of 33-year-old Greg Ridgley, as a a homicide that occurred early Monday morning in the 4400 block of E. 28th St.

On August 21, 2017, around 4:35 a.m., Tucson Police officers responded to a request from the Tucson Fire Department for assistance at a residence in the 4400 block of E. 28th St. Officers were first on scene and located Mr. Ridgley inside a residence with apparent gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering aid and summoned paramedics. Paramedics arrived on scene and continued treatment of Mr. Ridgley. He was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries but succumbed to injuries shortly after arrival.

Detectives learned that several individuals entered the residence and one was armed with a firearm. At some point, Mr. Ridgley was shot and the suspects fled in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing but this incident does not appear to be a random act. The detectives are asking anyone with information related to this incident to please call 88-CRIME (you can remain anonymous).
