Supai Man Sentenced To 24 Months for Sexually Abusing Minor

Tuesday  August 22, 2017, Xavier Justice Hamidreek, 24, of Supai, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S. Senior District Judge Roslyn O. Silver to 24 months in prison for sexually abusing an underage victim on the Havasupai Indian Reservation.

Hamidreek was also sentenced to a 24-month concurrent term for possessing marijuana with intent to distribute it on the reservation. Upon release from prison, Hamidreek will be on supervised release for 20 years and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Both Hamidreek and the underage victim are members of the Havasupai Indian Reservation.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The prosecution was handled by Christine D. Keller, Assistant U.S. Attorneys, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
