Flagstaff Police Arrest Cellphone Peeper, Victims Sought

The Flagstaff Police Department is investigating suspect Christopher Yazzie, 26 years of age for secretly videotaping females by reaching below their clothing with his cellphone and recording. Yazzie was arrested on August 21st, for secretly videoing two victims in a local clothing store.

Flagstaff Police subsequently served a search warrant on his phone which indicates there may be other victims of surreptitiously recording, (A.R.S. 13-3019), a class 5 felony.

Christopher Yazzie of Chinle, Arizona was arrested for shoplifting three pair of socks and two shirts on August 20th, 2017. It was suspected Yazzie had stolen additional merchandise so the surveillance video was reviewed more in depth. During this review, Yazzie was observed filming underneath the clothing of two female victims. Yazzie was contacted upon release from jail, interviewed on the unlawful video recordings, and re-booked on two charges of surreptitiously recording. Yazzie’s cellphone was seized at that time.

Once a search warrant was served on the phone additional videos were discovered. Victims of these videos have not been identified. Police are hoping other victims may recognize Yazzie from photographs of him (above). Yazzie is described as 5’07’’, 170 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

To the best of authorities’ knowledge some of the other suspicious videos took place in Flagstaff at the following locations: Huntington Walmart (06/23/2017), S. Plaza Safeway Shopping Center (07/15/2017), several businesses at the Flagstaff Mall (07/25/2017), Target (08/06/2017), Woodlands Village Walmart (08/11/2017) and possibly Fry’s grocery store (08/17/2017). There were several other videos recorded on 06/05/2017 that appeared to have been taken at an unknown location at the Grand Canyon National Park.
