Sierra Vista Woman Arrested For Kidnapping

The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a local woman, Zoe Howell, age 34, for kidnapping and aggravated assault on Thursday after a victim reported being held inside an apartment against her will for about 12 hours.

The investigation began at 7:30 a.m. when a woman reported that she had jumped out of a second story apartment window to escape multiple individuals who were holding her there under threat of serious physical injury. This occurred in the 2200 block of Las Brisas Way. The victim ran for help from a nearby citizen and asked to be taken to the police.

SVPD detectives conducted surveillance of the residence and served a search warrant there at about 11:30 a.m. Multiple suspects believed to have involvement in the crime were inside the residence and were interviewed by detectives.

Howell was arrested and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently being held in Cochise County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
