Arrest Made In Shooting Outside Rialto Theater

Dillon Martinez, age 23 has been arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred Saturday night on Congress St. near the Rialto Theater in downtown Tucson.

The shooting occurred in the roadway outside the Rialto.

The male victim was transported to a local area hospital. He is currently listed critical but stable condition.

According to Tucson Police, there were multiple witnesses. Detectives learned Martinez was “driving westbound on Congress when the victim made contact with him and his vehicle in the roadway,” according to the press release. Martinez “exited the vehicle and a verbal altercation occurred. The exchange then turned into a physical fight.” Martinez “eventually produced a handgun and shot the victim.

Martinez immediately surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, according to TPD. Martinez was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on the following charges:

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Class 3 Felony
Aggravated Assault with Serious Physical Injury – Class 3 Felony
Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits – Class 6 Felony
