Arrest Made In Tucson Hit And Run

On Sunday, Tucson Police detectives identified the deceased victim and suspect in a bizarre hit and run that occurred last week. The adult victim has been identified as 67-year-old Leonard Green. The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Ruben Aulbert Lemon.

On Saturday, officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of E. Pastime Rd. They were able to take Lemon into custody without incident.

Lemon was booked into the Pima County Jail on one count of Hit and Run Involving a Death – A Class 2 Felony.

On September 20, 2017, around 10:45 a.m., officers responded to a serious injury collision on E. Pima St. near N. Alvernon Way. Upon arrival, they observed the driver of a truck (Lemon) had struck an adult male (Green) and an adult female who had been waiting at the bus bench. Lemon fled the scene.

Mr. Green and the female were both transported to Banner University Medical Center with serious injuries. Mr. Green succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Detectives were able to determine that Lemon, driving a gray 2011 Nissan Titan, was traveling southbound on Alvernon Way and made an eastbound turn onto E. Pima St. at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the Titan, veered off the roadway and struck the bus bench on the south side of the street, striking Mr. Green and the female.
