Tempe Designer Wins International Halloween Costume Design Contest

Yandy.com, an international lingerie and costume retailer for women, partnered with FABRIC, Tempe’s fashion incubator, to host a costume design contest. Local designer Ellen Dayan of Tiger Lily Dress Shop won with her Phoenix Firebird design.

The costume is now being produced at FABRIC and is on sale internationally. Yandy.com is paying to have the costume manufactured and a portion of the proceeds are going back to Tempe non-profit Arizona Apparel Foundation to fund scholarships and fashion opportunities.

In the last year, more than 180 fashion labels have worked in the fashion incubator.
