Tucson Pedestrian Killed On Ft. Lowell

On September 29, 2017, just after 7:00 a.m., Tucson Police officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a serious injury collision involving a pedestrian and a truck on N. Columbus Blvd. and E. Ft. Lowell Rd. Upon arrival, they located an adult female pedestrian with obvious injury.

Paramedics immediately transported the female to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries but sadly, she succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Detectives were able to determine the pedestrian was crossing E. Ft. Lowell Rd. from south to north in the crosswalk.

The driver of a silver 2005 Dodge Ram ¾ ton pickup truck was southbound on Columbus Blvd. and was putting down the visor due to sun glare and did not see the pedestrian in the crosswalk while making an eastbound turn onto E. Ft. Lowell Rd. Neither speed nor drug or alcohol impairment appear to be factors in this collision.

The investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued at this time.
