TDP Investigates Ellington Place Homicide Updated

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating a homicide that occurred in the 3600 block of E. Ellington Place (near S. Palo Verde Ave. and E. 32nd St.).

On October 1, 2017, just after 7:00 p.m., officers from Operations Division Midtown and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a check welfare on a man down in the street in the 3600 block of E. Ellington Pl. Citizens were on scene providing first aid to the male. Paramedics arrived on scene and took over treatment of the male who had obvious signs of blunt force trauma. He was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, he succumbed to injuries this morning and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. He has been identified as 25-year-old Jimmain Middleton. His next of kin have been notified.

The family member that had been with 21-year-old Alexis Noe Medina-Luna during the physical fight resulting in the death of 35-year-old Jimmain Middleton was released from the hospital.  He has been identified as 30-year-old Adan Jesus Medina.  Mr. Medina was subsequently arrested for 1st Degree Murder.  He was transported and booked into the Pima County Jail.

Tucson Police Department detectives are furthering this investigation. They learned Mr. Middleton lives in the area but it is unknown at this time how he ended up in the street with injury. The detectives are urging anyone that may have seen or heard anything in the area from around 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to call 911 or 88-CRIME (you can remain anonymous).
