Suspect In Fatal Scottsdale Traffic Collision Arrested

Scottsdale Police Department Detectives have arrested 46 year old Tracy Shelden Morehouse on the charge of Second Degree Murder. The arrest stems from Morehouse’s involvement in an August 13, 2017 fatal traffic collision at Scottsdale Road and Princess Drive.

On August 13, 2017 Morehouse was driving, a red 2014 Tesla S85, south on Scottsdale Road when she struck 45 year old motorcyclist Greg Dolphin as he was stopped for the red light on southbound Scottsdale Road at Princess Drive. Just prior to the collision Morehouse was observed driving south in the northbound lanes of Scottsdale Road. While driving the wrong way she collided with a Toyota 4 Runner at Scottsdale Road and Chauncey Lane. Morehouse failed to stop and remain on scene of that non- injury collision, and instead fled south on Scottsdale Road at a high rate of speed. She continued south on Scottsdale Road reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour until hitting Dolphin as he waited for the red light at Princess Drive. Mr. Dolphin sustained fatal injuries as a result of the horrific collision, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Through investigation it was learned Morehouse reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour, and that she was traveling in excess of 84 miles per hour at the point of impact with Dolphin. Blood analysis showed her blood alcohol concentration to be .355%. Based on this, and all information learned through the investigation Morehouse was arrested and booked on the charge of Second Degree Murder.
