CBP Agents Make Third Firearm Seizure In Less Than A Week

Keltic PF9 9 mm pistol and a Smith and Wesson M&P 9 mm pistol previously confiscated.

Agents stopped a Honda Accord near Blythe, California to conduct an immigration inspection. Subsequently, agents then searched the vehicle and ran a records check on the driver.

Records identified the man as a 26-year-old U.S. citizen and convicted felon. Inside the vehicle, agents found a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun.

Agents contacted the Blythe Police Department who arrived on scene and took custody of the subject, the firearm and vehicle.

This is the third vehicle stop resulting in a firearm seizure by Blythe Station agents in less than a week. Two previous incidents occurred on Oct. 11 when Blythe agents seized a Keltic PF9 9 mm pistol and a Smith and Wesson M&P 9 mm pistol. Both of these incidents resulted in the seizure of small amounts of drugs and the arrests of the vehicles’ occupants.

  1. Keep up the excellent work, CBP! Catching a mid-20’s convicted felon with a 9 mm Glock loaded with hollow points means he was up to no good.

    • I agree with the “Keep up the excellent work”, albeit having a loaded 9mm Glock, loaded with hollow points means nothing. Having a felon in possession of same generally does. I carry a loaded firearm (concealed), with hollow points but I’m not “up to no good”. Many of us law-abiding firearms owners do. It’s to defend ourselves against a mid-20’s convicted felon with a 9mm Glock, loaded with hollow points. Remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes to hours away. That isn’t an indictment of police officers; just a fact. Unless they personally witness a crime they don’t know one has occurred until someone reports it. That’s normally too late. Most firearms owners aren’t “cowboys”, looking for an excuse to shoot someone. Many criminals are. Case-in-point: We still don’t know all of the details but recently someone was walking with a female friend at the “rattlesnake” bridge, crossing Broadway. The victim gave the bad guys what they wanted and he was shot and killed, anyway. Sometimes you’re just dealing with someone from the shallow end of the gene pool and they will kill you, anyway.
