Man Arrested After Sierra Vista Resident Interrupts Burglary

The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a Sierra Vista man for burglary Friday afternoon after a resident in the 3300 block of Oak Hill Street caught him in the act.

The resident interrupted a burglary in progress at 11:48 a.m. and reported to police that the suspect, described as a black man, fled on foot. SVPD officers and detectives responded to the area and began to search for the suspect. A short time later, 38-year-old Sierra Vista resident Michael Harrell was located and positively identified as the suspect. He had items stolen during the burglary in his possession.

Harrell was arrested on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property. He is currently being held in Cochise County Jail.
