Chandler Police Detectives Need Help Identifying Sexual Assault Suspect

In August of 2014, a 12-year-old female was sexually assaulted in the parking lot of the Basha Library located at 5990 South Val Vista Drive. The suspect, who arrived at the Library in a vehicle, approached the victim as she stood in front of the Library. Believing he needed help with his homework, the victim walked with the suspect to an older model white four-door sedan. Once in the vehicle, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male between 18 and 25 years of age. He is over five-foot eight-inches tall and, at the time of the attack, was wearing a flannel shirt, baggy jeans, and tennis shoes. The victim further told investigators the suspect spoke with poor English (Improper words not accent).

The victim disclosed the assault to a health care professional in June of 2017. Detectives from the Department’s Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) are investigating.
