CBP Agents Nab Wanted Woman, Seize Weapon At Naco

Officers seized a .45 caliber pistol as well as several rounds of ammo and a magazine from 19-year-old who intended to go into Mexico

Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Naco recently apprehended a woman with an outstanding arrest warrant and stopped a man attempting to smuggle a weapon into Mexico.

On the evening of Oct. 20, officers manning the pedestrian lane referred a 27-year-old female U.S. citizen for further inspection as she was returning from Mexico. While conducting a records check, officers learned the woman had an outstanding arrest warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service related to a narcotics offense. She was arrested and turned over to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

On the afternoon of Oct 23, officers conducting outgoing pedestrian operations questioned a 19-year-old man on his way into Mexico. When they noticed a pistol in the rear waistband of his pants, the man attempted to flee. Once the subject was secured and disarmed, officers also discovered a magazine with six rounds of ammunition in his front waistband. Officers arrested the man and seized the weapon and ammunition. He was then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
