Five Hospitalized After South Side Tucson Explosion

Five people were hospitalized due to an explosion Wednesday night on Tucson’s south side. There were 6 employees working at the jojoba oil processing site when the explosion occurred.

The 2 alarm fire took almost 2 1/2 hours to get under control.

The fire began at approximately 11:40 p.m. at the jojoba processing plant in the 2100 block of Beverly Drive, near East 22nd and Kino.
