Pictures of Sen. John McCain that show the boot he was given for an injury to his right Achilles tendon are causing a controversy on the internet.
In the first photo of McCain, taken immediately after the injury, the boot appears on his right foot. A photo taken on Tuesday at the family’s compound on the occasion of his daughter Meghan’s wedding, the boot appears to be on his left foot.
Because men’s jackets generally have buttons on the right side, it does not appear that the photo image is merely flipped.
There must be a reasonable explanation, but what it would be is still a mystery.
