On Thanksgiving, Sen. John McCain sent a message through the twittershpere confirming that his medical boot was in fact on his left leg. Twitter was all a twitter over a picture he posted in which the boot appeared on his left leg.
McCain posted the mysterious picture the day after his daughter Meghan’s marriage.
The boot had been on his right leg as a result of an injury to his right Achilles tendon.
The explanation did not satisfy many Arizonans, who believe that due to his failing health and ever more erratic behavior, the senator should step down from office. McCain was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer earlier this year.
According to multiple sources, arrangements have been made for McCain’s successor. Sources report that should former congressman, John Shadegg, agree to the plan, he will replace McCain when the time comes on the condition that he stay in office as a placeholder until Arizona Governor Doug Ducey is termed out of office. Ducey would then run for the seat. The plan, reportedly conceived by former Senator Jon Kyl and others, might work on the condition that Ducey is re-elected to a second term. Due to Ducey’s declining popularity, the powers-that-be might have to resort to whatever “Plan B” they may have concocted.
