Head-On Collision, Iron Springs Road Multiple Injuries

On November 27, 2017, just before 1:00 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s (YCSO) deputies were dispatched to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Iron Springs Road (County Road 10), north of Kirkland, Arizona. The vehicles involved included a white 2015 Mercedes which was traveling south and an off-white 1990 Ford Van traveling north. The speed limit on this portion of the roadway is 35 MPH.

The Ford van was driven by 61-year-old Michael Morgan of Kirkland and he was the only occupant of this vehicle. The Mercedes was driven by 34-year-old Monica Tarullo with a married couple as passengers, Patty Tarullo, 76, in the right front seat and Darryl Tarullo, 78, in the back seat. The Tarullo’s are from California.

Michael Morgan along with Patty and Darryl Tarullo were all flown to a Phoenix area hospital with serious injuries. Monica was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

A preliminary review as to the cause of the collision indicates Morgan, traveling north on Iron Springs Road, drove his van left of the center stripe into oncoming traffic. This resulted in a collision with the Mercedes traveling south in the appropriate lane. The investigation remains active.

Deputies are seeking anyone with information regarding driving behavior of the off-white Ford Van before the collision occurred. Please call the Sheriff’s Office at 928-771-3260 and refer to case 17-042404.
