Peoria Police Seek Information On Assault Of Teen

Peoria Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the assailant of a teen on Thursday November 30, 2017 at about 6:30 a.m., who was walking to school on West Cinnabar Avenue.

The 15 year-old female noticed three males jogging southbound on 75th Avenue. As she started walking northbound on 75th Avenue, she alleged one of the males who jogged past, approached her from behind, grabbed her shoulder and said, “Come on” “let’s go.”

The female struggled to free herself from his grasp. She was able to get away, went home and police were called. The victim suffered a minor injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but has since been released.

The male fled southbound on 75th Avenue on foot. She described the suspect as a 60-70 year-old dark skinned, Hispanic male, approximately 5’6” with a “husky build.” He had thinning hair on top and medium length brown hair on the sides. He had brown eyes and short facial hair. He was wearing a gray tracksuit jacket with stripes down the sleeves and an orange safety vest.

Detectives have been investigating the case and the Peoria Police Department increased patrols in the area where this incident occurred.
