Douglas CBP Officers Seize $99K In Marijuana

Officers removed packages of marijuana that was hidden beneath the seats of a smuggling vehicle and from the door panel.

Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry in Douglas, Arizona, apprehended a Mexican national smuggling almost 200 pounds of marijuana into the United States on Friday afternoon.

After officers referred a 22-year-old Mexican man for a secondary inspection of his Nissan sedan, a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted officers to locate approximately $99,000 worth of marijuana hidden throughout the vehicle.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and arrested the man for narcotics smuggling. He was then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
