Tucson Smugglers Toss Marijuana, Flee CBP Agents

Smugglers attempted to toss bundles of marijuana from their vehicle when they attempted to flee from agents near Pearce, Ariz.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Willcox Station arrested two Tucson men east of Tombstone who tossed multiple bundles of marijuana from their Dodge Charger while attempting to flee from agents on Sunday night.

When agents attempted to stop the vehicle south of Pearce, Arizona, the driver fled toward Tombstone while bundles of marijuana were being tossed from the vehicle. Agents working in Tombstone also responded.

The suspects stopped the car to flee on foot and were later arrested and identified as U.S. citizens ages 23 and 25. Agents recovered more than 200 pounds of marijuana, valued in excess of $100,000.

The suspects and marijuana will be processed in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.
