Shortly after Border Patrol agents from the Casa Grande Station apprehended five men for entering the U.S. illegally near the village of Cowlic, Ariz. late Tuesday morning one of subjects started experiencing seizures.
Agents apprehended three Mexican and two Guatemalan nationals, approximately 11 miles north of the border and, within minutes of the encounter, had to request emergency medical support for a 33-year-old Mexican man.
A Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue team soon arrived aboard a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and transported the man to an awaiting air ambulance for further transport to a Tucson hospital where he was treated and later released.
All five men are being processed for immigration violations in accordance to Tucson Sector guidelines.
Border Patrol officials encourage anyone in distress to call 911 or activate a rescue beacon before becoming a casualty
