Weinzweig Appointed To Arizona Court of Appeals

David Weinzweig has been appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Margaret H. Downie.

Weinzweig is a partner at Ellman Weinzweig LLC. Weinzweig’s practice involves litigation matters before trial and appellate courts, including antitrust, consumer fraud, securities fraud, bankruptcy, real estate, elections, contracts, patents, trademarks, and product liability.

From 2012-2017, Weinzweig worked as Senior Litigation Counsel for the Arizona Attorney General in the Solicitor General’s Office where he defended Arizona statutes against constitutional challenges, including legal challenges against state criminal laws and capital punishment methods.

Weinzweig also served on the Attorney General Opinion Committee and drafted legal opinions in response to requests from state and county officials. Prior to this, David was an attorney at Lewis and Roca in Phoenix.

Weinzweig received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arizona and obtained his law degree in 1997 from Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
