Mesa Burglary Suspect Confronted By Homeowner, Arrested

On January 22, 2018, at 12:30 a.m., Mesa Officers responded to the 2300 block of S. Farnsworth Dr. for a report of burglary in progress. When they arrived, the homeowner reported being awakened by sounds coming from his living room. He exited his bedroom and found his back door open and the suspect, Mark Schoenleber, hiding behind a chair in the living room.

The homeowner confronted the suspect and chased him into the garage. When the suspect was cornered he threatened to harm the homeowner. The homeowner went back into the house and called police. Officers arrived quickly, but the suspect had fled the home. A perimeter was set and officers began checking the area. The suspect was located and, after a brief foot pursuit, was taken into custody.

Theft of credit card
Resisting Arrest
Threatening and Intimidating
Theft
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Trespassing
