Apache Junction Man Arrested For Sexual Exploitation Of Minor

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Apache Junction Police Department, arrested and charged Christopher Roberson, 36, of Apache Junction with 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

On Thursday, January 4th, PCSO investigators were alerted that inappropriate pictures and video of children were downloaded on to a computer at a home near Cortez Road and 35th Avenue in Apache Junction. The initial investigation revealed up to 300 images and videos of boys and girls were downloaded on to the computer. As the investigation continued, PCSO learned as many as 4,000 images of children, some as young as five, were involved. The investigation is on-going to determine the full scope of his activities.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop early Thursday morning, taking Roberson into custody. A search warrant was executed at the home where he resides.

Roberson did have access to small children, but at this point in the investigation, we do not believe there was any inappropriate contact or behavior. The Department of Child Services has been called in to investigate.
