Convicted Sex Offender Arrested Re-entering US Illegally

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Three Points Sub-Station apprehended a previously-convicted sex offender Thursday who re-entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico.

Agents encountered 39-year-old Raul Ramirez-Torres after he entered the country illegally through the desert southwest of Tucson. During subsequent processing, agents conducting a records check learned Torres was convicted in Pennsylvania in 2012 for sexual molestation of a minor.

Torres will be processed for immigration violations and faces prosecution for re-entry as an aggravated felon.
