Convicted Sex Offender Arrested Re-entering US Illegally

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Three Points Sub-Station apprehended a previously-convicted sex offender Thursday who re-entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico.

Agents encountered 39-year-old Raul Ramirez-Torres after he entered the country illegally through the desert southwest of Tucson. During subsequent processing, agents conducting a records check learned Torres was convicted in Pennsylvania in 2012 for sexual molestation of a minor.

Torres will be processed for immigration violations and faces prosecution for re-entry as an aggravated felon.

  2. Mexico should be billed for the costs of incarcerating all their perps. Failing that they should be kept in conditions similar to those they would enjoy in their homeland.
