Tucson Man Kills Girlfriend’s Visitor

On March 25, 2018, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Tucson Police officers responded to an apartment complex located at 3201 E. Fort Lowell Road for a report of a possible domestic violence incident that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Javier Quiroz.

Upon arrival at the complex, officers located a female victim and learned that her boyfriend, 20-year-old David Turner, was armed with a gun and had forced entry into an apartment she was visiting.

She reported that Turner then shot and killed the Mr. Quiroz that was inside the apartment with her.

Officers quickly located Turner in the parking lot of the complex. He was detained without incident and a handgun was found in his possession.

Officers then went inside of the apartment where they located Mr. Quiroz with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Tucson Police Homicide detectives were able to determine that Turner had kicked in the door after learning his girlfriend was visiting Quiroz behind his back. Once inside, Turner shot Quiroz multiple times, then pointed the gun at his girlfriend and would not let her leave. Eventually, she was able to leave the apartment where she located family and police.

Turner was booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of First Degree Murder, DV-Aggravated Assault and DV-Kidnapping. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 88-CRIME.
