Arizona Treasurer Jeff DeWit announced on Tuesday that he will resign effective Tuesday, April 3, 2018 to become the CFO of NASA. DeWit was appointed by President Donald Trump and was confirmed by the Senate on March 14.
Governor Doug Ducey must now choose a replacement for DeWit.
While DeWit was a popular figure when he entered office, at the end of his tenure, his popularity suffered and he was unable to help get his candidate for CD8, Phil Lovas, the Republican nomination.
