Domino’s Pizza Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

On March 28, 2018 at about 11:45 a.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office personnel arrested 33 year old Angel Gomez. Angel was identified as being involved in two separate armed robberies at a Domino’s Pizza located in Sun City, AZ and was considered to be armed and dangerous.

On January 1, 2018 Angel entered the Domino’s located at 9827 NW Grand Avenue demanding the employee give him everything in the cash register. Angel then lifted his shirt displaying a black handgun to the employee and left the scene wearing a black hat, grey long sleeve athletic shirt, black scarf around his neck and tan pants with approximately $75.00 in US currency.

On March 6, 2018, Angel entered the Domino’s once again, displaying a black semi-automatic pistol, forcing employees to lie down in a back room. He then emptied the cash registers and had the manager of the store open the safe taking cash in an unknown amount.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detectives used video surveillance to identify and link Angel to the armed robberies. Angel was located in Surprise driving a vehicle that was used as a means of escape from the second robbery.

Angel Gomez was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on 2 counts of Armed Robbery, 6 counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of Kidnapping, 2 counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons, and 2 additional counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons. Angel is a convicted felon and served a 7.5 year sentence in 2006 for Armed Robbery.
