Tucson Attorney Disbarred, Sent Client Pics Of Genitals

Tucson attorney Scott Lieberman was disbarred from the practice of law while serving a prior three-year suspension.

On March 28, 2017, the Disciplinary Hearing Panel of the Arizona Supreme Court ordered Lieberman disbarred after deeming allegations against him as admitted by default. A complaint was filed by the State Bar of Arizona on Jan. 17, 2018 and a notice of default was entered on Feb. 14, 2018.

In Count One, Lieberman failed to comply with multiple Superior Court Orders.

In Count Two, he failed to file a final order in his client’s case after representing her in a litigation hearing despite being ordered by the Court to do so. He was held in contempt.

In Count Three, Lieberman was hired to provide representation in a family law case and was paid $5,000. After appearing once, he abandoned his client.

In Count Four, he was paid $17,000 to help a client in appealing child custody orders. During Representation, Lieberman sent his client a text message asking her, “would you rather have sex and not pay at all?” He made similar statements to his client over the phone and send at least one text message with a picture of his genitals.

Scott Lieberman’s disbarment was effective Mar. 28, 2018. He was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $5,000 to one client and $1,759.12 to the State Bar of Arizona for the costs and expenses associated with his disciplinary proceedings.

Consumers may report attorney misconduct by calling the State Bar of Arizona Attorney/Consumer Assistance Program (A/CAP) hotline at 602.340.7280. Consumers should not expect the Bar to protect them from attorneys who have harmed them. The Bar does not protect clients of attorneys, it protects itself from bad attorneys.
