Ducey Names Klein Arizona’s New State Treasurer

Eileen Klein, outgoing President of the Arizona Board of Regents, has been appointed as Arizona’s new state Treasurer by Governor Doug Ducey.

Klein brings a wealth of experience in the private and public sector to this new role, including a substantial background managing the state’s budget as a former Director of the Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting, Chief of Staff to former Governor Jan Brewer, and as the President of Arizona’s university system.

As Regents’ President, Klein oversaw the continual increase of tuition at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona.

Klein became president in 2013. Previously, she served as Chief of Staff to Governor Brewer. She has also served as chief operating officer and as vice president of state affairs for UnitedHealthcare Arizona Physicians IPA. She is a graduate of Florida State University and holds a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University.
