TPD Requests Help Locating Driver Of Hit & Run

Tucson Police Department investigators are requesting the public’s assistance to locate the driver and vehicle of a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian that left a woman possibly paralyzed.

Last Friday, April 27, 2018, around 6:00 p.m., officers from Operations Division East were traveling eastbound on Speedway Blvd when they located a female in the roadway near 8225 E. Speedway Blvd. who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. They stopped and immediately requested medical assistance. Members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the female to Banner University Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The on scene investigation revealed the adult female was crossing E. Speedway Blvd, east of N. Sarnoff Dr. She was not in a crosswalk. As she traveled from north to south, she was struck by a four-door sedan. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and continued eastbound on Speedway Blvd.

The detectives learned the female may be left paralyzed as a result of this collision. They are requesting anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
