TPD Investigating Fatal Shooting On Tucson’s South Side

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating the fatal shooting of Osachafo Jamal Brewer that occurred on Tucson’s South Side.

On Thursday afternoon on May 3, 2018, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers from Operations Division South responded to the 2500 block of South Treat Avenue for a report of an injured male lying on the ground in front of a residence. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with obvious signs of gunshot trauma and pronounced him deceased on scene.

After learning Mr. Brewer had known gang affiliations, detectives with the Tucson Police Gang Unit responded to continue the investigation. Although gang detectives are investigating the incident, it is uncertain at this time if the homicide itself was gang related.

As detectives continue to follow-up on leads, they are asking anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME where you can remain anonymous. There are currently no suspects in custody. Additional details will be released as they become available.
