Ward First Candidate To Formally File For U.S. Senate In Arizona

Ward and volunteers delivered nominating petitions to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office

U.S. Senate candidate, Dr. Kelli Ward, submitted 11,774 nominating signatures to the Arizona Secretary of State’s office on Friday, approximately double the required amount for ballot access for Arizona’s 2018 U.S. Senate election.

“I am proud to be the first candidate from either party to file for U.S. Senate,” said Ward in a press release. “None of this would be possible without the help of hundreds of grassroots volunteers and supporters who believe in our campaign. The energy on the ground continues to build as we travel to different cities and rural towns, speaking with the hard-working men and women of our state. Arizonans are looking for change. They’re ready to send a conservative to the U.S. Senate. I am grateful to have the support of so many voters in Arizona and will strive to always put their needs first when I get to Washington.”

An ABC15/OHPI poll, conducted April 10-11 by Arizona’s OH Predictive Insights and ABC15, found that Ward leads her closest primary opponent, Rep. Martha McSally, by a 9-point margin.

Ward has received endorsements from U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, U.S. Rep. Steve King, and television talk show hosts, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin.

Ward is a favorite with the Republican Party’s grassroots, while McSally is favored by the establishment.
