Thousands Of Fentanyl Pills Destined For Valley Streets Seized

Two people, 33-year-old Octavio Gutierrez-Hernandez and 23-year-old Jorge Bazan are behind bars after detectives with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and the Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force (MCDST) wrapped up a 5-month long investigation by identifying a group selling large amounts of narcotic drugs on valley streets.

Detectives served several search warrants in association with the investigation and seized approximately 8000 fentanyl pills, $10,000 in U.S. Currency, and a 9mm handgun from various locations, including a storage unit in the Maryvale area.

The investigation began in early 2018 in cooperation with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and the Phoenix Police Department.
