Facing Challenge From The Right, GOP Lawmaker Pulls Support For Immigration Bill

WASHINGTON ― Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) withdrew her cosponsorship of immigration legislation that would help young undocumented immigrants, as she fends off challenges from the right in her bid for her party’s Senate nomination.

McSally has been a cosponsor of the Recognizing America’s Children Act (RAC) since April of 2017. On Thursday, she asked to be removed as a cosponsor. The GOP-sponsored bill ― which has one Democratic supporter ― would give legal status to certain young undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and are often called Dreamers.

McSally is in a tight race for her party’s Senate nomination for the open seat being vacated by GOP Sen. Jeff Flake. The congresswoman has the backing of party leaders, but her opponents in the primary include conservative favorite Kelli Ward, who has the support of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), former White House aide Steve Bannon and right-wing pundits Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham.

Rumor has it she’s recently picked out her Halloween costume, it’s believed she’s gonna dress up and pretend to be a conservative.

  2. McSally is proving what we all thought. She was hand picked by McCain to be another swamp creature. My only question, what has she done for CD2? Can anyone tell me??? Please what has she done except get lost on the A10 and probably signed the death warrant for DM?

  3. with the vast number of ‘other non-A10’ missions that come to DM – that use DM – Don’t see DM closing without A-10. That said, what makes Ward so much better than Mc Sally. She pulled from the ‘Dreamers’ as what a defense from the non-dreamer right. Should be an interesting election. I think Trump would support some dreamer act to happen without his name on it, in the end I think he will put one on the table if no one else does it.

President Trump DID put ACA on the table last year and the democrats ran away from it.

They do not want to solve the problem they need an election issue to run on.

I will take McSally anyday over Rino McCain. Or anyone that quacks like McCain. He was a democrat in sheeps clothes his entire political career.

  7. She’s a big supporter of Trump — now that she is running for the senate! Prior to that, she was anti-Trump. So, we’re supposed to believe that she’s a “conservative”? If she gets into the senate, she’ll revert to form. If you believe she’s a sincere conservative, I have a bridge for sale in New York that might interest you too…

It’s obvious that the McSally is the establishment GOP pick. She is getting all kinds of media attention now.
