The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting of 23-year-old Joseph Anthony Campos that occurred in Midtown Tucson early Saturday morning.
On June 30, 2018, just after 3:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to 3650 East Speedway Boulevard for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Campos in the parking lot with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives were able to determine that a large amount of people were in the parking lot of the business when a fight ensued. During the fight, multiple shots were fired and the victim was struck. Detectives spoke with several witnesses and individuals involved, however; many people left the area before police arrived.
No arrests have been made at this time. As detectives continue their investigation, they are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME.
