Tucson Bank Robber Sentenced, Threatened Use Of Explosive During Stand-Off With Police

A Tucson man, David Allen Markillie, age 67, was sentenced to 60 months’ in prison after pleading guilty to one count of armed bank robbery and one count of false information and hoax.

Markillie entered the Compass Bank located at 7645 N. La Cholla on Aug. 10, 2017, and robbed the bank by the threatened use of a bomb. He stole approximately $2,300 and fled to the Foothills Mall where he was taken into custody after a stand-off with Pima County Sheriff’s deputies.
