McCain Finally Laid To Rest, Ducey Expected To Name Replacement

On Sunday, Sen. John McCain was finally laid to rest during a private ceremony at the U.S. Naval Academy. McCain planned the multi-day cross-country funeral services.

While his bids to become president were twice rejected by the American people, McCain planned a farewell reserved for the Nation’s presidents.

The services took a decidedly political turn on Saturday when his daughter Meghan delivered his eulogy at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.  According to Meghan, her father told her to deliver a eulogy that would “show them how tough” she is. She succeeded in appearing tough by attacking President Donald Trump, but reviews were mixed in the twittershpere:

Governor Doug Ducey refused to name McCain’s replacement until after the Senator’s final funeral service. According to multiple news outlets, he is expected to choose from a number of McCain loyalists including:

McCain’s wife Cindy
Cindy’s good friend Barbara Barrett
Ducey’s Chief of Staff Kirk Adams
Adam’s arch-enemy former-congressman-turned-lobbyist Matt Salmon
Maj. Gen. Michael McGuire, Director of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs
President of the Arizona Cardinals Michael Bidwill
Former senator Jon Kyl
