Maricopa County Supervisors Approve Money For Review Of Election Snafu

Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes is accused once again of disenfranchising voters. So on Wednesday, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved the August 28, 2018 Primary Election results but has requested an internal audit and external review related to the planning and execution of the Primary Election and Election Day operations.

The audit will include a look at:

Primary Election Day readiness
Planning that went into Primary Election Day
Allocation of Resources
Handling of complaints
Voter check-in process

The Board of Supervisors has approved $200,000 to contract an outside firm to review issues surrounding the Primary Election.

The supervisors expect the internal and external reviews to result in real-time recommendations to improve election processes prior to the general election.
